Delicious and refreshing! Part 2 of my bar food and cocktail series. Adapted from Food and Wine Cocktails 2008.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounce vodka
- 3/4 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce simple sryup
- ice-wine -lime froth
- 1 grapefruit wedge
Directions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vodka, triple sec, and simple syrup, and shake well. Strain in to a chilled martini glass. Carefully top with the ice-wine-lime froth and garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
- For the ice-wine-lime froth; in a cocktail shaker combine 1 egg white, 1/2 ounce lime juice, 1/2 ounce cold white wine and 1/4 ounce triple sec. Shake for 10 seconds, add ice and shake for 10 seconds more. Carefully scoop out the froth and discard the ice.
- For the simple syrup; combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring often till sugar dissolves. Let cool and place an airtight container and refrigerate.
