A vintage recipe from Better Homes & Garden circa April 1939. We found 2 binders and magazine clippings of recipes in an old house that we are flipping. For me someone who likes to cook and collect recipes it was like finding a little treasure.
- 2 pounds ground lamb
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 sightly beaten eggs
- 1/2 cup minced celery
- 1 cup chili sauce
- 1 1/2 cups of dry bread crumbs
- Preheat oven at 350F.
- Combine all the ingredients and form into rolls. Should make 12.
- Bake uncovered on a rack in a shallow baking dish, for 40 minutes ( I used the broiler pan)
